I’m wearing a pair of black sweatpants with pockets I got at K-Mart a couple of years ago. They still make them, they just aren’t as easy to find as they used to be.

(and if you’re wondering where the hell I came from, I’m an occasional commentor over at Thud’s who wandered over because the internet is boring tonight and I’m clicking random things on people’s blogrolls.)

When my friend Natalie’s daughter was about Cory’s age, a bat got into her house and settled on top of a kitchen cabinet. She grabbed the baby and fled.

I seem to remember something about her husband pushing the bat off the cabinet with a broom, but I’m not sure if they had to call animal control to get rid of it.

You know that I’m on the “Bat Team” at school, but I still don’t want a live one as a mascot. Make sure you read Cory the book Silverwing by Kenneth Oppel as soon as he’s old enough. It’s an awesome book about a bat named Shade. Much less scary than a real bat!

Things flying in apartments absolutely freak me out… you were MUCH calmer about the whole thing than I would I have been. I’ve got the willies just reading about it. whole body shiver

I went to one of those places (in NC) with my grandparents when I was a kid. I still have a beautiful amethyst pendant we had cut from a stone I found, plus another that I wore uncut.

The one you went to does sound pretty lame.

Great, I’ll be the only mommy I know who has to put red chile in the jars of baby food to get him to eat it. But you are probably right that a lot of the stuff he doesn’t like is just too bland for him.

Hooray for Cory!

If he liked the quesadilla, he might like some of the toddler foods just because they make them rather bland. He seems to have inherited your taste for very flavorful foods.
